I had never used a recipe with Tahini in it so I want to give it a try and check out the texture. It is used in Hummus recipes. I like a lot of garlic so this is pretty garlicky (is that a word). If you don’t like a big garlic flavor then cut down on the garlic because it truly is strong, which is fine with me.
This is so easy to make, why bother buying it in the grocery store with preservatives in it. Make it homemade and grab your chips and dip away.
Ingredients
1 clove garlic
1 (19 ounce) can garbanzo beans, half the liquid reserved
1. In a blender, chop the garlic. Pour garbanzo beans into blender, reserving about a tablespoon for garnish. Place lemon juice, tahini, chopped garlic and salt in blender. Blend until creamy and well mixed.
2. Transfer the mixture to a medium serving bowl. Sprinkle with pepper and pour olive oil over the top. Garnish with reserved garbanzo beans.
